THE DEVON VALLEY HOTEL WINS BEST ACCOMMODATION AWARD FOR THIRD TIME
11 DECEMBER 2009
The Devon Valley Hotel has once again won the Accommodation category in the Best of Wine Tourism Awards. The hotel also won the category in 2006 and 2007.
“Our judges were extremely impressed with not only the continuous cosmetic upgrading, but also the excellent service at The Devon Valley Hotel, which is integral to the criteria of the judging process,” says Andre Morgenthal, Communications Manager of Wines of South Africa (WOSA). “The hotel won the category not only for the quality of its hospitality, but also for promoting the range of wine tourism offerings in the area.”
WOSA is the not-for-profit organisation that promotes South African wines abroad.
“It is really an outstanding achievement to win this award for the third time,” says Craig Seaman, MD of Louis Group Hotels, Spas & Vineyards. “We are the only establishment to win the award three times over.”
Deputy Mayor of the Winelands Municipality Clarence Johnson presented the award to the acclaimed Stellenbosch estate, as well as to all the Cape’s category winners over a lunch prepared by Rust en Vrede’s chef, David Higgs. Rust en Vrede Estate was announced as the overall South African winner in the Great Wine Capitals Best of Wine Tourism Competition.
